Thunberg’s Gaza Trip Faces Israeli Intervention

On Monday, Israel’s defense minister stated that Greta Thunberg, alongside fellow activists on the Freedom Flotilla Coalition’s vessel, would be shown footage of the October 7th terrorist attack. This follows the Israeli Defense Forces’ (IDF) interception of their Gaza-bound yacht, the Madleen.

The IDF boarded the Madleen shortly after Thunberg and the group attempted to breach a naval blockade, despite warnings from Israeli officials to halt their actions.

“The stunt is over. Eat, drink and get out of here,” wrote Israel’s Defense Minister Israel Katz on social media, directing the IDF to show the activists the videos of the October 7 massacre. He added, “It is appropriate that the anti-Semitic Greta and her fellow Hamas supporters see…,” followed by a link to the video.

Katz praised the IDF for their swift takeover of the Madleen, aimed at preventing the activists from reaching Gaza. He explained that the video depicting the atrocities committed by Hamas would clearly illustrate the gravity of the situation the Israelis are facing.

This incident unfolded after Thunberg described the boarding as her and her crew being “kidnapped” in international waters while attempting to “deliver aid to Gaza.”

The Israeli government has dismissed the trip as a publicity stunt, pointing out that activists had been seen posing for photos on social media.

“The ‘selfie yacht’ of the ‘celebrities’ is safely making its way to the shores of Israel. The passengers are safe and were provided with sandwiches and water,” the ministry stated.
