Greta Thunberg Detained and Deported from Israel

Greta Samberg, known widely for her activism, was attempting to return to her hometown in Sweden after being detained in Israel. On Tuesday, she was reportedly taken in again by fellow activists aboard a yacht heading toward Gaza.

The 22-year-old, whose full name is Greta Tintin Eleonora Ernman Thunberg, and her companions decided against viewing clips of the Hamas attacks that occurred on October 7th prior to their journey. This refusal led to complications during their trip.

Israeli forces intercepted a yacht belonging to the Free Fleet Union in international waters on Monday. Reports indicate that five French activists who were on board were also detained after they declined to leave Israel voluntarily.

The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the passengers were moved to Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv, while the yacht was towed to Ashdod Port for their return flights.

Israeli Defense Minister Katz mentioned plans to show the activists a comprehensive edit of the October 7 footage that captured the Hamas attacks, recorded by the terrorists’ cameras.

Katz remarked to the media, “Members of the anti-Semitic fleet have once again turned blind to the truth, proving they prefer to support murderers while ignoring the horrific actions that Hamas inflicted on Jews, including women and children.”

According to Israel’s Foreign Ministry, Thunberg was on a flight back to Sweden, making a stop in France. A photo shared by the ministry showed her aboard the plane.

In addition, five French activists were mentioned in the report, with the French Foreign Minister stating they were set to face legal action in Israel. “Our consul managed to meet with six French citizens detained by Israeli authorities,” Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barlot noted. “One of them has agreed to leave voluntarily and should return today, while the remaining five are facing deportation.”
