A Political Dynasty in the Making?
President Trump recently expressed strong belief in the political futures of his children, suggesting they were “born wisely.” During a conversation on Miranda Devine’s debut podcast episode, he reflected on whether his eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., might pursue a presidential run.
When asked about this potential, Trump seemed confident that all his kids have something to offer in politics. “I think all of them probably have a future in politics, frankly,” he remarked, adding, “And Don is very good. He’s an outdoorsman.” He went on to praise his other children, noting Eric’s contributions and commenting on Baron and Ivanka, whose skills he acknowledged as well.
Throughout the 2024 election period, Donald Trump Jr. was notably vocal. He supported his father’s campaign and even suggested JD Vance as a vice-presidential candidate. Additionally, he runs a podcast where he discusses various political matters.
However, despite his active involvement, Donald Trump Jr. downplayed any aspirations for the presidency, stating he had “no interest in being 28 or soon to take office.” He later clarified this on Twitter, critiquing a news report that misrepresented his comments.
Meanwhile, Eric Trump has taken on significant roles within the Trump Organization, and his wife, Lara, is involved with the Republican National Committee and hosts a show on Fox News. Ivanka, along with her husband Jared Kushner, played key roles in the earlier Trump administration and are now involved in strategizing for the upcoming campaign.
Tiffany Trump has kept a low profile since recently welcoming her first child, while Baron Trump just finished his freshman year at New York University. President Trump also shared insights about Baron’s college experience, mentioning a promise he made to his mother about watching over him.
Reflecting on his parenting approach, Trump emphasized the importance of a drug-free lifestyle for his children. He revealed his own history with abstinence from alcohol, influenced by his late brother’s struggles with alcoholism. “I always told them: no drugs, no alcohol, no cigarettes,” he said, while acknowledging the reality of tattoos among peers.
