Federal Agent Arrests Illegal Immigrant in Southern California
In Baldwin Park, California—amid heightened tensions—federal law enforcement arrested a Mexican national on Wednesday. This individual, identified as Arturo Terron-Keevedo, faces charges of rape and multiple violent offenses.
An exclusive video obtained shows Terron-Keevedo cuffed near the city hall, a stark scene against the backdrop of recent unrest in the area.
Senior officials from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) shared with news outlets that after Terron-Keevedo’s release from local custody, he was apprehended by ICE, alongside a criminal investigator. He has pending charges including rape and assault with a deadly weapon, which poses a significant risk of injury.
In a recent press briefing, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, flanked by 30 other officials, addressed concerns over ICE’s operations. She claimed the agency was targeting unauthorized immigrants without criminal backgrounds unfairly.
Meanwhile, Baldwin Park’s local police expressed their longstanding support for the immigrant community, regardless of their legal status. Mayor Alejandra Avila emphasized the city’s commitment to advocating for all residents, including undocumented individuals, during these uncertain times.
The Baldwin Park Police Department has reiterated its stance, maintaining that their officers will not engage in immigration enforcement nor comply with federal actions. Chief Robert Lopez encouraged the community to refrain from violent or illegal actions against law enforcement, reaffirming their dedication to making Baldwin Park a safe, inclusive environment.
