Teacher Turned Aviation Instructor After Improper Relationship

A former teacher, Brittany Zamora, 33, is now working as an aviation instructor in prison after being convicted of an inappropriate relationship with a 13-year-old student. She has been sentenced to nearly 20 years for her actions, but reports indicate she has taken on a role directing fellow inmates at the Perryville prison facility in Arizona.

According to inmate records, she began this new job assignment in April, shortly after completing a course focused on family relationships, self-control, and social values.

Importantly, since the facility houses only adults, there’s no risk of Zamora interacting with minors in her teaching position.

This isn’t her first experience as a prison tutor; in November 2021, she was reported to be assisting education staff in a group setting, as noted by the Department of Corrections.

When questioned by police during her arrest, Zamora expressed concerns about surviving life in prison, describing herself as “less.” Yet, her recent mug shot from October 2024 shows a contrasting image; she appears to be adapting well, sporting a smile while dressed in an orange jumpsuit.

Her physical appearance has changed as well; her hair, once blonde in her infamous 2018 mug shot, has reverted to a natural brown shade.

Initially arrested in March 2018, Zamora was accused of engaging in sexual activities with a student multiple times in a classroom at Las Brisas Academy, a primary school in Goodyear, Arizona.

Her actions were brought to light when the victim’s parents started monitoring his phone activity.

Court records indicate Zamora and her victim, who were involved while she was married, engaged in sexual acts in various locations, including the classroom.

After pleading guilty to charges of sexual conduct with minors and reduced charges of child abuse, she received a 20-year sentence in July 2019. Following her sentencing, she filed for divorce in May 2020, citing irreparable issues in her marriage.
