DHS Responds to Kim Kardashian’s Comments on ICE Raids
On Wednesday, officials from the Homeland Security Agency (DHS) reached out to Kim Kardashian after she described a recent Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) raid as “inhuman.”
DHS Deputy Secretary Tricia McLaughlin issued a forceful statement countering Kardashian’s remarks. Her post included mugshots of individuals with criminal backgrounds, accompanied by poignant captions intended to challenge public perception.
@kimkardashian Which of these convicted child molesters, murderers, drug traffickers, or rapists would prefer to stay in the country? These are just a few of the illegal offenders convicted in the past 72 hours. https://t.co/baujukbulk pic.twitter.com/vatpnwhmed

Among the featured offenders was Eswin Uriel Castro, who had previously been deported and was convicted of child abuse along with other serious charges, according to McLaughlin’s post.
Another individual highlighted was Gerald Antonio Palacios, an undocumented immigrant with convictions for murder and robbery, as noted by media reports. McLaughlin also shared details about Antonio Benitez Augarte, another alleged undocumented immigrant from Mexico, who had been convicted of drug trafficking.
Additionally, there was a mugshot of Mabu Kleb, a Cambodian individual suspected of being in the country illegally. Kleb’s background includes multiple charges, such as possession of a controlled substance and indecent behavior with minors.
McLaughlin emphasized, “These are just a few of the illegal offenders convicted in the last 72 hours.” Her comments came shortly after Kardashian denounced the Trump administration’s deportation initiatives.
Kardashian accused ICE of tearing families apart in an unfathomable way, stating, “It’s important to speak up when we see innocent, hardworking people being affected.” She asserted that, politically, the situation calls for compassion and understanding.
She urged her followers to recognize immigrants as integral parts of the community, saying, “Our neighbors, friends, classmates, and family contribute significantly to our society.” In a message advocating for humane treatment, Kardashian remarked that “when fear and injustice keep people from living freely and safely, we cannot look away. There must be a better way.”
The ongoing tension was palpable, with President Trump deploying the National Guard and Marines in response to the protests that erupted, particularly in Los Angeles, to defend federal agents. As of now, Kardashian hasn’t publicly addressed McLaughlin’s statements.
