Kate Middleton Honors Princess Diana at Trooping the Colour
Kate Middleton appears to channel the memories of Princess Diana and Queen Elizabeth II during Charles III’s 2025 Trooping the Colour, also known as the King’s Birthday Parade held in London. On June 14th, she attended the royal event, seemingly guided by the elegance of her late mother-in-law.
Her outfit featured a striking white dress adorned with a brooch from the Irish Guards Regiment. Additionally, she donned pearl drop earrings that previously belonged to Queen Elizabeth II.
Middleton’s daughter, Charlotte, mirrored her mother in a light aqua dress trimmed in white, completing her look with matching white shoes. Charlotte’s hair was styled in a braid, reminiscent of previous appearances.
Interestingly, Middleton’s ensemble drew comparisons to one worn by Princess Diana in 1988, which featured a similar shade of white with blue-green tones. This suggested a warm sentimentality as she sported the look while holding her daughter.
The Princess of Wales also stood prominently alongside King Charles and Queen Camilla during the ceremony, highlighting her growing importance within the royal family. Last year’s event had a different tone, marking her return after announcing her cancer diagnosis. She had shared earlier this year that her cancer is in remission.
At the event, Charles rode alongside Camilla in a carriage, both dressed in ceremonial attire, including black armbands to honor the victims of the recent Air India plane crash. The ceremony has been a staple in celebrating the British monarch’s official birthday for over 260 years, featuring a grand parade of soldiers, horses, and musicians, concluding with a flypast by the RAF.
As the festivities continued, it was heartening to see Prince Louis, always cheerful, greet the crowd with royal waves, while Prince George and Prince Louis matched their father’s military uniform with red ties.
Overall, this year’s celebration not only showcased royal tradition but also illuminated the connections and memories tied to past royal figures.
