Update on Tyreek Hill and Noah Lyles’ Proposed Race
In February, after the Super Bowl, Tyreek Hill and Noah Lyles discussed setting up a race to determine who’s the fastest. However, it seems that this much-anticipated event hasn’t materialized yet.
Noah Lyles, who clinched gold in the 100 meters at last summer’s Paris Games, recently spoke at the Cannes Lions Festival in France. While there, he addressed the status of their race, mentioning “complications” and “personal reasons” that have delayed plans.
Lyles hinted that they were very much in the planning stages, with the event originally set for this past weekend. “We had some significant plans. It was supposed to happen this weekend,” he remarked. Unfortunately, as he put it, some issues came up.
He also shared that Times Square in New York City was considered as the venue for this exciting showdown. “We were going to hold a big event. It would have been awesome—closing down Times Square and everything,” he explained, conveying a sense of excitement for what could have been.
Meanwhile, Tyreek Hill has been actively preparing for the friendly contest, posting a video showcasing his sprinting training. This comes after a recent event where a group of Pro Bowl receivers completed the 100 meters in 10.15 seconds in California.
While there’s still uncertainty surrounding the race, fans are left eager to see if Lyles and Hill can reschedule their competition sometime in the future.
