Ronnie Winter of The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus prohibits Trump supporters at concerts

The lead vocalist of the alternative rock group The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus announced to supporters of President Donald Trump that they are permanently barred from attending his concerts. Frontman Ronnie Winter shared this statement via a video on the band’s official Instagram, declaring, “If you vote for Donald Trump, don’t come to my show. This is forever, not just about the last four years.”

Winter specifically called out Christian supporters of Trump, stating, “If you’re a Christian who voted for Donald Trump, then I’ve made you embarrassed. You can’t come to my show. I don’t want you there. Just don’t come.” He emphasized that attendees would instead hear genuine messages, possibly alluding to religious themes, saying, “You hear a lot of propaganda; so don’t come to my show, and you’ll hear the actual words of Jesus.”

Winter seemed to imply that his concerts would be bastions of acceptance across various demographics, suggesting a welcoming environment for everyone, except those with certain political affiliations.

Further addressing his audience, Winter remarked, “It’s nice that you love ‘Face Down,’ but it’s not your song. So, yeah, it’s not for you,” referring to the band’s hit from 2006. He also took a moment to defend his left-leaning views against critics, sharing that he had “woken up” and that those who have been alert to the political climate were right in their concerns regarding the nation’s trajectory under Trump.

“Realizing the truth is part of waking up. Once you wake up, you can’t go back to sleep,” he said. “Nothing has changed, and everything they warned about has proven true.”

Winter’s comments add to a growing list of musicians who have voiced dissent against Trump’s administration. Iconic rock star Bruce Springsteen has transformed his current tour into a platform for anti-Trump sentiments, expressing his disillusionment with the current administration during performances.

Meanwhile, guitarist Tom Morello recently expressed his frustration at a music festival, while Neil Young raised concerns on his website about the possibility of Trump’s influence affecting his upcoming tour.
