In May, Fox News Digital saw impressive results, marking the month as the second-best for unique visitors across digital platforms, reaching around 134 million. This is quite notable, showcasing a significant year-over-year increase as many Americans turn to reliable news sources for updates and insights.
When compared to May 2024, Fox News Digital’s growth stood at 34%. In contrast, CNN experienced an 18% decline in unique visitors from the previous year, while the New York Times also saw a drop, posting 71 million visitors, which is 9% less than last year.
Fox News Digital outperformed renowned news outlets, including CNN, CBS News, NBC News, ABC News, The Washington Post, and others, highlighting a busy month for news consumption. In terms of multi-platform engagement, Fox News achieved 3.8 billion shares in May, representing an 18% increase from last year. This marks the 51st month where Fox News Digital has consistently delivered impressive metrics.
Fox News Dominates YouTube News Views
According to the data, Fox News leads all news brands on YouTube with a staggering 232 million views, far surpassing competitors. CNN recorded 1.4 billion multiplatform views in May, which reflected a 32% decrease from last year, while New York Times followed with 1.2 billion views, down 28% year-over-year.
Throughout May, Fox News Digital maintained its position as the top news source for the 13th consecutive month, accumulating 1.8 billion multiplatform views, a 4% increase from the previous year. The New York Times had 1.5 billion views, down by 9%, while CNN trailed with 857 million views, which also demonstrated a 28% decrease.
In terms of engagement, Fox News led the pack with an average of 2.9 views per visit, outstripping NBC and ABC News during May.
On YouTube, Fox News recorded over three times the video views of ABC News and NBC News combined, even eclipsing MSNBC by 64 million views. It also claimed more than 54 million views compared to CBS News.

Fox News has seen a 98% surge in YouTube video views compared to last year, especially on its new clip channel, which launched with nearly 30 million views in its inaugural month.
