John Halliburton Enjoys Fan Interaction After Game
John Halliburton knows how to take things in stride.
After the Thunder’s 120-109 victory over the Pacers in Game 5, he found himself amidst some playful banter from Thunder fans outside the Paycom Center. Wearing his son Tyree’s bright yellow jersey, John engaged with the crowd, smiling as they poked fun at him.
At one point, a fan repeatedly asked, “Are you thinking?” Just before John posed for a photo, he shook hands with someone, captured in a 24-second video clip circulated online.
It’s impressive how John’s upbeat demeanor stands in contrast to the not-so-great moment he had with Bucks player Giannis Antetokounmpo during an earlier series, which resulted in an eight-game suspension. That ban just wrapped up as the Eastern Conference Finals progressed.
Following the Pacers’ win over the Bucks, John was seen waving a towel and celebrating on the court. He even playfully knocked heads with Antetokounmpo afterward.
Giannis labeled John’s actions as “very rude,” to which Elder Halliburton issued an apology, while Tyree defended his father’s enthusiasm.
“He just needs to let me play ball while he enjoys the game from the stands. I’ll join him afterward to celebrate,” Tyree remarked. “The emotions were running high during that game. I’ll definitely talk to Giannis about it; I don’t think my dad meant anything by it.”
As the team heads to Indianapolis for Game 6, Tyree’s health is making headlines.
The point guard is suspected of having a strained right calf and was scheduled for an MRI to evaluate the injury, according to ESPN.
In Game 5, he struggled, failing to make any shots and ending with just four points while dealing with discomfort.
Despite this, the former Iowa star indicated he would be ready to play on Thursday after the game.
BetMGM lists the Thunder as 6.5-point favorites on the road.
“We need to get prepared for Game 6.”
