Jasmine Crockett describes Trump and his supporters as 'sick'

Representative Jasmine Crockett from Texas expressed concerns about a “mental health crisis” in the U.S. during a recent podcast with Katie Couric. She characterized former President Donald Trump as “ill,” emphasizing that the issues surrounding Trump transcend political affiliations.

When Couric asked about Trump’s deployment of National Guards and Marines to address protests in Los Angeles, Crockett suggested it was an act of “retaliation.” She portrayed Trump’s supporters as being part of a troubling mentality, stating, “It’s a disease, it’s really sick,” and stressed that Americans should unite against him regardless of their political leanings.

Crockett compared the current political climate to times when, in her view, Republicans had a healthier, more conventional approach. She expressed nostalgia for figures like George W. Bush, stating, “I’d take the ordinary Republicans of today.” Her remarks implied that today’s political environment is lacking leaders who genuinely care about the issues at hand.

She also sympathized with service members who face ideological battles similar to those overseas, highlighting the loyalty and sacrifices of those who serve. Crockett called out Republican members who support Trump, arguing that they are violating their oaths to the Constitution just by aligning themselves with his agenda.

In a moment of reflection, she described those Republicans as “co-sick people,” suggesting that they may prioritize party loyalty over the principles they swore to uphold. Her words resonated with a sense of urgency: “I don’t know how far he has to go before we get together.”
