Hostage Families Urge Trump for Action
JERUSALEM – The families of Israeli hostages, currently in the hands of Hamas, have written an open letter to President Trump, asking for his intervention to help free the 53 individuals held in Gaza.
“As Iranian missiles fly overhead, we are consumed by thoughts of our loved ones suffering as Hamas captives,” the letter says. “For over 620 days, they have faced brutal conditions, without shelter or the comfort of family. Time is running out for them.” This message was delivered through the platform of Trump Media & Technology Group.
The family specifically called on the president to “take advantage of this moment when Iran and Hamas seem most vulnerable.”
Trump managed to secure the release of 21-year-old Edan Alexander, who had been held captive for nearly 600 days. After his release, he returned to his home in New Jersey.
In response to the letter, Fox News Digital reached out to the White House and the State Department for comments.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke to reporters, noting, “Iran is the main obstacle for Hamas. They’re weakened. Our military campaign aims to bolster efforts to free hostages held by Iran-backed organizations in Gaza.”
Netanyahu emphasized that he won’t rest until all hostages are brought home, stating, “I will not give up, and I have steps in mind to achieve this.” He pointed out that Hamas’s refusal to agree to a ceasefire complicates America’s efforts to negotiate for the hostages.
There was a tragic note when the family of Yaayakov, a recently deceased hostage, released a heartfelt statement, remembering him as a special father whose absence leaves a substantial void.
As tensions continue in the region, the hostages’ families are advocating for urgent action, hoping their loved ones will soon return home safely.
