Astros secure victory in extra innings after benches clear due to confrontation between Hunter Brown and Zach Neto

Hunter Brown Hits Zack Neto in Tense Astros vs. Angels Game

During a tense game at Angel Stadium, Houston Astros pitcher Hunter Brown inadvertently hit Los Angeles Angels shortstop Zack Neto with a pitch. This incident occurred in the third inning, while the Astros were leading 2-0.

Brown faced Neto with a 0-1 count when a 95 mph sinker struck Neto on the hand. Immediately reacting, Neto shouted towards Brown, clearly upset about being hit by the pitch.

Things escalated as Brown approached Neto, who was already fuming. The home plate umpire stepped in to help defuse the situation, but the tension brought both teams’ dugouts and bullpens onto the field. Astros catcher Yainer Diaz managed to hold Brown back while he continued to shout at Neto and other Angels players who had come out to confront him.

After a brief standoff, order was restored without any punches thrown or ejections, and the game continued. Neto remained in the game despite the incident.

Brown went on to pitch a total of five innings, allowing one run on two hits while hitting four batters throughout the game, which ended in a tight contest. The Astros ultimately triumphed with a win in ten innings thanks to a wild pitch that allowed Mauricio Dubón to score.

The Astros, currently 44-32, are set to face the Angels (36-39) again on Saturday at 9:38 PM.
