Jay-Z Subtly Shades Kanye West in Surprise Concert Appearance

In an unexpected surprise during Beyoncé’s “Cowboy Carter” tour, Jay-Z threw some shade at Kanye West.

The couple performed several hits, including “Crazy in Love” and “Drudge,” as well as a remixed version of “Partition” at Stade de France in Paris. Jay-Z, who is 55, also included “Ns in Paris” in the lineup.

Interestingly, during the performance of this 2011 hit from their “Watch the Throne” album, Jay-Z chose not to mention West’s name. Instead of the original lyrics, he rapped, “I might just let you meet Bey,” referring to his wife, rather than the previous lyrics that acknowledged West.

This subtle diss comes just a few months after West publicly criticized Jay-Z’s children, casting doubts about their intelligence on social media.

In a since-removed tweet, West made harsh remarks about Jay-Z’s youngest, Sir and Rumi, who are only eight years old. There have been ongoing discussions reportedly about legal action from Jay-Z and Beyoncé regarding West’s comments.

While West later expressed regret about his tweets, he backtracked in interviews, calling them some of his “best” work. He also made some controversial remarks about Beyoncé in recent weeks.

The couple, who also have a 13-year-old daughter named Blue Ivy, are said to be weighing their options on how to handle these situations, whether personally or through legal means.

Jay-Z and West’s relationship has been complicated for years, with moments of collaboration and tension. In 2017, Jay-Z referred to their bond as “complex,” acknowledging both the love and disagreements present in their relationship.
