Graham Norton’s Manhattan Home Sold Quickly

Graham Norton’s residence on Sniffen Court in Manhattan has been on the market for less than 50 days, and it’s already found a buyer.

The Irish comedian and TV host listed the home, named Jewel Box Home, for $5.59 million in early May. Reports indicate that it sold almost immediately, coming quite close to the asking price.

This unique property, situated on one of the city’s rare mews—residential alleys that once housed stables—features impressive 15-foot ceilings, lilac stone fireplaces, and vibrant paint accents across three floors.

The 20-foot-wide home encompasses around 2,500 square feet, including a 465-square-foot roof deck. Norton shared that he had hosted many gatherings there, both large and small.

The London-based entertainer has not only renovated this historic property but once contemplated retiring in New York. Norton previously purchased this pied-à-terre from supermodel Claudia Schiffer back in 2002. He’s not alone in choosing Sniffen Court; musicians like Lenny Kravitz and composer Cole Porter have also made their homes there.

The picturesque Sniffen Court Historic Centre, located between Lexington and Third Avenue, has long been a sought-after address. Norton mentioned to The Times that stepping into Sniffen Court feels like stepping away from the bustling heart of Manhattan.

Though Norton is perhaps the most renowned figure associated with Sniffen Court today, he’s not the first. American comedian Irwin Corey once lived there and faced landmark violation issues in 1985 for unauthorized renovations.

Interestingly, the area is home to an amateur comedy club that has resided at 1 and 2 Sniffen Court for 141 years, making it one of the oldest acting groups in the U.S. However, they don’t have public ticket sales, limiting access to members and their guests.

With its beautiful setting, sophisticated interiors, and social prestige, it’s no wonder Norton’s property sold so quickly, with contracts signed after just six weeks. While Chris Kann, Norton’s agent at Corcoran, opted not to provide comments on the details, it seems properties in the area are moving at a brisk pace. Another listing on Pomander Walk moved under contract within just 30 days after being listed in late May.
