Trump Voices Frustration Over Israel and Iran
On Tuesday, President Donald Trump expressed strong disappointment with both Israel and Iran, stating that both countries “don’t know what they’re doing.” His comments came as he departed the White House heading to a NATO summit.
Just hours after a ceasefire was implemented, Israel and Iran were exchanging missiles. Trump remarked, “I’m not satisfied with Israel. You know, when I say you’re not going for 12 hours, or even the first hour—you’re not just dropping everything you have. So, I’m not satisfied with them either. And I’m not satisfied with Iran, but if Israel goes out this morning, it really won’t be good.” He added, “We basically have two countries that have fought so hard for so long that we don’t know what they’re doing.” He mentioned he would try to intervene.
Earlier, Trump had announced a ceasefire agreement, calling the ongoing conflict a “12-day war.” The Prime Minister of Qatar reportedly secured an Iranian agreement to the U.S.-proposed ceasefire following limited strikes against a U.S. Air Force base in Qatar.
Despite the ceasefire, senior Israeli officials informed that Iran had launched two missiles toward Israel right after the announcement. “Unfortunately,” an Israeli official shared, “the Iranians…”
Minutes after discussing missile activity, Trump stated that Israel had scrapped its plans for an attack that morning. “Israel is not going to attack Iran. All planes will turn and go home,” Trump revealed.
As tensions continued, it’s unclear if Israel would formally confirm their cancellation of a follow-up strike. Overall, the situation remains complex, teetering between potential peace and further conflict.
