Raducanu mentioned a history between her and the 22-year-old Alcaraz, recalling that they began to connect in 2021. “We were talking or friends before someone wins something,” she elaborated, hinting at their evolving friendship.

Their relationship has generated significant chatter, particularly during the 2025 HSBC Championship. Alcaraz recently claimed his second Queens Club title, defeating Czech player Gilli Lehecca.

Raducanu was there to support Alcaraz in his semi-final match against Roberto Bautista Agut, noting, “The friendship between Emma and Carlos was about Queens.” Broadcasters picked up on the chemistry between the duo.

Rumors intensified when Alcaraz was reportedly spotted at Raducanu’s hotel during her visits to support him. There was even speculation that he arrived shortly after her car pulled up at Queens.

Raducanu first gained widespread recognition in 2021 with a remarkable run to the US Open title, although her path has had its share of challenges, including injuries and shifts in coaching. Last year, she reached the fourth round at Wimbledon, striving for success as the Grand Slam event approaches.

She is set to compete against Anley from the US in an upcoming women’s singles match at the Eastbourne International, a precursor to Wimbledon.

On the other hand, Alcaraz continues to shine as a five-time Grand Slam champion, recently securing a dramatic victory over Jannik Sinner at the French Open.
