2025 MLB City Connect Jerseys: A Mixed Bag
So, the 2025 MLB City Connect jerseys are… well, they’re something. This season’s collection has been a bit of a rollercoaster. The Chicago White Sox, Miami Marlins, Washington Nationals, Arizona Diamondbacks, San Francisco Giants, Boston Red Sox, Colorado Rockies, and Houston Astros all got revamped City Connect looks. It’s quite the mix this year, and I’m ready to rank them again.
For those interested, the descriptions for each layer are available within the tiers. Let’s dive in! If you have feedback about the rankings, feel free to reach out.
S-Tier: I’ll Buy This, Even if It’s Not My Favorite Team
Houston Astros
As a bit of a space nerd, I find the design quite captivating. The front of the jersey actually reminds me of the Astros logo from 2000 to 2012. I think the orange and navy blues against the white really make it pop. The hat could be improved, but overall, this look is impressive.
Arizona Diamondbacks
The Diamondbacks’ new City Connect jersey also stands out. It’s the familiar Serpientes logo, but with a vibrant twist in electric blue and purple. I’m partial to the hats as well—very cool. This one has a striking quality to it.
A-Tier: I’d Buy It, but I’d Prefer My Favorite Team’s Jersey First
San Francisco Giants
When the Giants first unveiled these uniforms, I wasn’t entirely sold on them. However, seeing them in action changed my mind. They might just be among my favorites from this Urban Connect era. The jersey font has a unique spray paint vibe, which pairs well with the rest of the design, and it’s definitely an upgrade from their previous gradient attempt.
B-Tier: Not My First Choice, but I’d Buy It
Colorado Rockies
I lean towards their older designs, but I still think these jerseys are cool. The colors draw inspiration from Colorado sunsets, which is nice. It would have been great to see more mountain motifs incorporated into the design.
C-Tier: I’ll Buy If It’s on Sale… Maybe 40% Off
Boston Red Sox
Red Sox in green and yellow? Certainly an interesting choice. While I understand the reasoning, the design feels a bit overzealous. They look more like something from an online creator than a professional team.
Miami Marlins
I hate to admit it, but I’m somewhat disappointed with the Marlins’ City Connect design. It seems like they’re trying to keep up with what other teams in South Florida are doing. I might wear it, but I’m not sure it’s better than what came before.
D-Tier: I’d Only Consider Wearing These If They Were Free
Chicago White Sox
Red and black jerseys for the White Sox? It’s like they forgot their identity and what colors really represent them. They remind me of cheap jerseys you’d find online—less than impressive.
Washington Nationals
Another letdown here. The Nationals’ jersey is just plain gray, and I was really hoping for something more colorful. They had potential to be interesting, but this design feels too muted and uninspiring.
