Iranian Prince in exile urges for change in government: 'Berlin Wall moment'

Exiled Iranian Prince Calls for Change in Tehran Government

Reza Pahlavi, the exiled Iranian prince, is advocating for a shift in the Iranian government, asserting that it is “collapsing.” In a post on X, he urged the citizens of Iran to rise against the regime and warned the military that this was their “final chance” to act.

“To the military—you’re standing still because you’ve been ordered to oppress the people. This is your last chance. You’re being watched. We remember who stood with the people and who committed crimes against them,” Pahlavi stated on X.

Pahlavi Aims to Inspire Change

During a press conference in Paris on Monday, Pahlavi announced a new platform for Iranians to reach out to him and his team, aiming to expose the flaws within the current administration. He mentioned that he had already begun receiving messages, indicating that this platform would help manage the increasing interest from those wanting to join the movement.

The prince also called upon the international community to support the fall of what he described as “corrupted and collapsed terrorist regimes” in Iran. “Please, don’t support the administration that will only bring fear,” he emphasized.

A Moment for Democracy

Pahlavi’s message on X coincided with his assertion that this could be a pivotal moment for the Iranian people, akin to the fall of the Berlin Wall. He referred to this moment as the future of the regime headed by Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, which is increasingly in question following attacks on Tehran’s nuclear facilities, where Khamenei reportedly sought refuge.

“I’m here today to support my fellow Iranians and guide them toward peace and democratic transition,” Pahlavi claimed. He noted that he does not seek political power but rather aims to assist Iran in moving toward stability, freedom, and justice.

A Direct Call to Khamenei

Pahlavi directly addressed Khamenei, saying, “Step down. If you do, you will be given a fair trial and a legislative process. This is what Iranians deserve more than ever.” His father, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, was the last Shah of Iran before being overthrown in the 1979 revolution.

Earlier this year, Pahlavi spoke at the Geneva Summit of Human Rights and Democracy, where he urged for international action against Khamenei’s regime, emphasizing that the Iranian people are prepared to reclaim what he termed “stolen countries.”
