Ceasefire Between Iran and Israel Declared by Envoy

On Tuesday, Steve Witkov, a special envoy to the Middle East, announced that the war between Iran and Israel has effectively ended. He pointed to a noticeable absence of gunfire since a ceasefire, facilitated by the Trump administration, was put in place.

In a conversation with Fox News’ Laura Ingraham, Witkov mentioned that Iran’s warning about pursuing peaceful reconciliation has been a constant factor in discussions since the conflict reignited. He emphasized that once Israel met its objectives—along with U.S. support—both parties could be approached for a ceasefire agreement. “The evidence is clear,” he stated.

“No one’s shooting at each other anymore. That’s in the past,” he added.

Despite accusations of ceasefire violations from both sides, a report from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) indicated that the ceasefire appears to be holding. They noted that although Israel was recognized for breaching the Iranian agreement, it has not resumed military actions at this time.

Meanwhile, during his trip to the Netherlands for a NATO summit, President Trump remarked on the effectiveness of the ceasefire, asserting that it’s crucial for Israel to hold back on military responses against Iran. He expressed praise for Israel’s decision to refrain from launching retaliatory strikes since the deal was established.

Interestingly, Trump had previously stated that both Iran and Israel had violated the ceasefire, showing his dissatisfaction with Israel’s military engagements post-agreement.

Witkov mentioned during his appearance on “Ingraham’s Angle” that Trump hopes for a comprehensive peace deal, extending beyond just a ceasefire, and that negotiations are actively ongoing.

He expressed optimism about the dialogues currently taking place. “We’re communicating through various channels,” he noted. “I genuinely believe there’s potential for a bright future, not only for Iran but for six Arab nations in the Gulf, fostering long-term economic growth.”

Witkov concluded with a strong sense of confidence in achieving this vision.
