XRP Community Reacts to Ripple Co-founder’s Return
After a long 14 years of silence, Ripple co-founder Arthur Britto has recently made headlines by resurfacing on the X platform, much to everyone’s surprise. He had been inactive for about a year but is known for his significant contributions to Ripple and the XRP Ledger (XRPL).
Britt’s First Post Sparks Interest
If you check his first post, you’ll see it consists merely of blank face emojis. It raises eyebrows, leaving the XRP community curious about his sudden reappearance. Despite being a co-founder, Britto cut ties with social media, which makes this moment even stranger.
Shortly after his post, Ripple’s Chief Technology Officer, David Schwartz, confirmed that there was no hacking involved in Britto’s account. A well-known XRP validator expressed his surprise, simply stating “no way” when he heard about Britto’s return.
In a discussion, another XRP community member, Pumpius, referred to Britto as potentially “the most important ghost in the history of code,” comparing him to the elusive Satoshi Nakamoto. He elaborated on how Britto played a role in creating the XRP Ledger to facilitate the development of neutral bridge assets for global liquidity.
Interestingly, Britto is also credited with designing the supply cap of 100 billion XRP. After co-authoring the XRP whitepaper, he vanished from social media. It’s also worth noting that he is involved with Polysign, a firm focused on building custody services, which has ties to Ripple.
Speculations Around XRP Prices
The XRP community is buzzing, linking Britto’s return to fluctuations in XRP prices. A prominent community figure, Edfarina, noted that these posts might be “Moon Signs,” indicating a potential surge in prices. This sentiment reflects hopes among XRP holders who have been waiting for promising developments.
Crypto influencer John Squire pointed out that Britto had previously mentioned a vision of XRP reaching $10,000. He wondered if this coincidence was a signal of something significant brewing. Squire also highlighted that the XRP ledger recently recorded its best transactions in four months.
Adding to the speculation, Squire remarked on the timing of Britto’s appearance coinciding with rising on-chain transaction volumes and ongoing rumors regarding Ripple’s IPO. He concluded that Britto’s sudden visibility might suggest a developing pattern.
As of now, XRP is trading at approximately $2.19, reflecting a notable increase of over 7% in the past 24 hours.
