Cody Johnson Stops Concert Due to Fight in the Crowd

Cody Johnson, the 38-year-old country music star, has taken a firm stance against physical violence. During a recent performance at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, he halted his rendition of “God Bless America” when a fight erupted among audience members.

Footage from the concert, shared on TikTok, shows some concertgoers falling to the floor as the scuffle unfolded. Johnson, after witnessing the chaos, addressed the crowd, saying, “I mean, this isn’t a Travis Scott concert,” referencing the tragic incident at Scott’s 2021 Astroworld event that resulted in multiple fatalities. He highlighted that children were present in the audience, emphasizing that such conflict was unnecessary. “There’s all sorts of things here that don’t have to happen,” he remarked.

“We’re going, there’s a police officer,” he also pointed out, urging calm among his fans.

Before starting “God Bless America,” Johnson spoke about the importance of unity, stating, “Well, very much because of my speech that I wouldn’t split.” His representatives did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

He’s not alone in addressing disruptive fan behavior during performances. Earlier this year, Carly Pearce confronted “angry” fans while performing at the O2 Academy in Birmingham, UK. She reminded the audience, “We’re all here to have a good night. Do you know what I mean? We’re all friends on my show.” With a frank tone, she told them, “No one has that time,” urging respect and consideration for others around them.

Despite the disruptions, both artists highlighted the significance of maintaining a peaceful and enjoyable concert atmosphere, catching the attention of their fans and ensuring that everyone felt included in the experience.
