VP Vance mocks Democrats on liberal-led Bluesky after joining

Vice President JD Vance has recently been the target of significant blocking on the social media platform Bluesky, which is often favored by liberal users. This comes after he made some provocative posts about Democrats, right after joining the platform a week ago.

He described Bluesky as a supposed hub for straightforward political discussions and analysis. In his initial post, he referenced Judge Thomas’s views on transgender healthcare, asserting that many so-called experts are using subpar arguments and flawed science to push experimental treatments on youth. He raised concerns about scientists being financially supported by major pharmaceutical companies to promote these drugs.

Bluesky is a newer platform that many have turned to after feeling disenchanted with X, particularly after the 2024 elections when Democrats felt marginalized. X, owned by Elon Musk, has been scrutinized for its alignment with right-leaning views.

Vance’s account was briefly suspended after it was mistakenly flagged as an impersonation account, but it was restored within 20 minutes. Bluesky representatives later confirmed that they had added a verification badge to ensure users could authenticate his profile.

Data indicates that Vance has become the most blocked user on Bluesky, with nearly 150,000 accounts blocking him since he joined. He has been particularly vocal following the recent Democratic victories in the New York City mayoral primary, which was seen as a shift to the left following previous elections.

Vance’s comments on the platform often target the Democratic party. He recently delivered a sarcastic remark about Iran’s nuclear program, capturing attention and ire from his political opposition. Critics, including California Governor Gavin Newsom and Senator Alex Padilla, have also called him out, especially after he mistakenly referred to Padilla by the wrong name during a press conference.

Despite these confrontational tactics, Vance’s social media activity has been limited, with only a handful of posts. He has suggested, somewhat jokingly, that he wonders how his predecessors as Vice President felt about such heated discussions.
