Dwight Howard Mourns His Dog’s Death

Former NBA All-Star Dwight Howard recently shared the heartbreaking news of his dog’s death, stating that she was struck by a vehicle last Sunday. In an emotional post on Instagram, Howard expressed his devastation, recalling how loyal his dog had always been. “You never left my side, and always seemed to have a sense of where I was,” he wrote. “Who would do this to an innocent girl without any remorse?”

He urged his followers to contact him if they had any information about the incident involving a Belgian Malinois in Suwanee, Georgia, on June 18th.

In his tribute, Howard reminisced about how his dog had been more than just a pet, calling her his “peace” and “guardian.” He described her presence as comforting, reminding him of serene moments like quiet Sunday mornings. “Every time I called your name, you were just so eager to love me,” he said. “You were joy. You were warmth. You were my girl.”

Howard added that he’s been searching for answers and feels a deep need to understand what happened. “I won’t stop until I know,” he emphasized, highlighting his emotional struggle in the wake of this tragedy.

As of now, the Suwanee Police Department has not responded to inquiries regarding the incident. Howard shared several photos and videos on Instagram, which include moments from his time on an outdoor basketball court with his dog.

Howard, who was a notable force in the NBA during his career, averaged 17.4 points and 12.7 rebounds per game in the 2017-2018 season. He was the first overall pick in the 2004 NBA Draft and earned the title of Defensive Player of the Year three times.
