According to reports, the NFL has decided to suspend former Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker for the first ten weeks of the 2025 season.
Tucker finds himself embroiled in a controversy involving allegations made by 16 massage therapists linked to various Baltimore Spa and Wellness Centers. These incidents reportedly occurred between 2012 and 2016.
Rob Roche, Tucker’s representative, expressed disappointment in the NFL’s decision. He mentioned in a statement that Justin has always aimed to uphold a strong image for his family and community. Roche emphasized the importance of resolving this issue so Tucker could return to the field as soon as possible. He highlighted Tucker’s commitment to both his career as a football player and his roles as a father and husband, insisting that those who know him understand his true character.
The Ravens released Tucker earlier this month, describing the action as a “football decision.” At 35 years old, he had a challenging year in 2024, posting a field goal percentage of 73.3%, despite holding the record for the highest career field goal percentage at 89.1%.
The allegations against Tucker were initially reported in January by the Baltimore Banner, with claims that he had repeatedly exposed himself over a four-year period, starting from his rookie season. Some of the accusers stated they either ended sessions early or refused to work with him afterward. Tucker’s legal team contested claims regarding bans from specific spas.
In a later report, additional allegations from seven more women surfaced, accusing Tucker of inappropriate conduct at high-end spas in Baltimore.
Tucker has defended himself, stating that he has always conducted himself with professionalism and has never faced complaints from massage therapists or any refusals for services.
In a press conference, Ravens coach John Harbaugh commented on the situation, acknowledging Tucker’s skill but emphasizing that the team’s priority is preparing for upcoming games. He mentioned that they must focus on the kickers and ensure they are ready to perform.
