Nate Morris Challenges Mitch McConnell’s Senate Position

Kentucky businessman and Republican Senate candidate Nate Morris announced on Saturday his campaign aims to end “Mitch McConnell’s Reign” and prevent McConnell’s associates from joining the Senate, as reported by Breitbart News.

Morris’s bid to replace McConnell was showcased in a launch video shared by Matthew Boyle, Breitbart’s Washington Bureau Chief. In the video, Morris presents his candidacy as part of a broader populist initiative aimed at moving away from established politicians.

“Today is Kentucky’s garbage day. Things are messy because of Mitch McConnell,” he stated in his promotional video. “The people of the Bluegrass state are tired of cleaning up after career politicians. I’m Nate Morris, America’s first conservative. I’m here to clear out the trash.”

In his announcement, Morris emphasized his commitment to both Kentucky and the U.S., positioning himself against McConnell.

Morris also named his primary opponents, Rep. Andy Barr (R-KY) and former state attorney general Daniel Cameron, labeling them as McConnell’s “dolls.” He stated that McConnell shapes the perspectives of Barr and Cameron, predicting that Barr will likely continue to endorse the policies of the Bush administration, while Cameron had mismanaged his support for Trump and lost the gubernatorial race against Gov. Andy Beshear (D).

Morris discussed a letter from Robert J. Benvenuti III, which invites him to the upcoming Lincoln dinner on August 9th and cautions candidates against criticizing fellow Republicans, ostensibly to shield McConnell from public reproach.

The letter mentioned:

In the spirit of party unity, I ask candidates to honor President Reagan’s 11th Commandment, which states that Republicans should not criticize each other while primary campaigns are ongoing. While lively political debates are integral to democracy, we believe this event is meant to consolidate Republicans and celebrate our great nation. It is expected that all candidates exhibit the professionalism befitting a Republican senator, ensuring that we remain united for a successful outcome in November 2026.

Morris criticized the letter’s goal of restricting criticism, describing it as “absolutely pathetic.” He emphasized the need for transparency and criticized the party’s efforts to protect McConnell.

“The fact that our party is covering for Mitch, and not addressing other relevant issues, is concerning,” he remarked, highlighting how McConnell had obstructed Trump’s agenda, labeling him as a significant hindrance.

Morris is set to host Charlie Kirk on June 30th in Shepherdsville, Kentucky, expressing excitement about the event.
