Olivia Munn recently addressed rumors about her past relationship with Aaron Rodgers, particularly claims that she was the cause of his estrangement from his family. During an appearance on “Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert” podcast, the actress explained her decision not to watch the Netflix documentary “Aaron Rodgers: Enigma,” which focused on the quarterback’s life and career, saying, “I knew what it would be.”
Munn reflected on her time with Rodgers, who she dated from April 2014 to April 2017. She pointed out that despite his successes, she felt unrecognized for her support, adding, “While I was with him, he had three Hail Marys. He didn’t win two NFC Championships but made it to the NFC Championship. No one talked about it. I wasn’t credited with any of the wins.”
She also mentioned her perception of fans speculating that she was behind the rift between Rodgers and his brothers, Jordan and Luke, as well as their parents, Ed and Darla. The dissension in Rodgers’ family first came to light during his appearance on “The Bachelorette” in 2016. Munn asserted that there were long-standing dynamics within the family that had nothing to do with her.
“There’s this big story that has followed me for years, but it’s really about their family issues,” she said, acknowledging that there’s been speculation but clarifying it’s not her story to tell.
Rodgers, in Ian O’Connor’s 2024 biography, described the rift with his family as “deep,” stating it was not connected to Munn. During the podcast, she expressed gratitude for Rodgers eventually clarifying the rumors impacting them both. She said, “Thank God, someone read it and said, ‘Oh, wait! Aaron speaks.'” Munn emphasized the importance of having the truth come from him directly, noting that many seemed to prefer a different narrative.
Munn, who married John Mulaney in July 2024 and has two children, shared her appreciation for the clarity Rodgers provided on the situation. Last month, Rodgers revealed that he had also tied the knot, marrying his girlfriend Britanni a few months prior.
