Passenger is assaulted during Frontier flight altercation

Passenger Assault on Frontier Flight

A New Jersey man was taken into custody earlier this week for allegedly attacking another passenger on a Frontier Airlines flight shortly before it landed in Florida, according to authorities.

On Monday, during Flight 1203 from Philadelphia to Miami, a confrontation broke out among passengers.

The victim, Keene Evans, shared with a local news station that one nearby passenger was acting erratically. “He was laughing in a really creepy way, saying things like ‘If you challenge me, it will bring you death,'” Evans recalled.

Feeling uneasy, Evans alerted the flight crew about the behavior of 21-year-old Ishan Sharma from Newark, New Jersey. The flight attendant advised him to use the call button if Sharma continued to act out.

Despite this, when Evans returned to his seat, tensions escalated.

“He kept threatening me,” Evans said. “That’s when I decided to stand up and press the button. I turned to him, and he quickly stood and put his forehead against mine.”

Evans described the encounter as intimidating: “He was glaring at me, and then he grabbed my throat, choking me.” Trapped in the cramped conditions of the aircraft, he felt he needed to defend himself.

Another passenger recorded the altercation, showing both men exchanging blows and pushing each other against the aircraft walls.

Despite pleas from other passengers and the flight crew to stop the fight, the struggle continued until they were finally separated.

Evans reported only minor injuries. However, Sharma, who was left bloodied, had a visible laceration on his brow that needed medical evaluation. His mug shot revealed significant swelling around his eye.

After the altercation, Sharma was arrested by Miami-Dade officials and taken to a correctional facility after being evaluated at a local hospital.

Sharma faces charges of battery with a bond set at $500. His attorneys claimed he was “meditating” before the incident erupted.

Evans pointed out that he is generally a good person and felt misrepresented by the available video footage. “It bothers me because I don’t want people to misunderstand my character,” he stated. “I wish I had handled things differently, maybe just staying away from him entirely.”
