The storm report from the National Weather Service highlights the serious impact of the flash floods.

Witnesses have described alarming scenes, including a house being swept away by the torrent behind a local brewery. Additionally, reports emerged of a man and two children being carried off by the floodwaters, and other individuals have found themselves stranded.

Residents at Gallivan Trailer Park required multiple rescue missions.

The man and two children were reportedly trapped inside a home near Ruidoso, while in the Alto area, an elderly woman also needed rescuing from her home.

As of now, there’s no update on the individuals who are unaccounted for or trapped. City officials have set up a system for residents to report missing family members due to the floods.

Rainfall totals between 1.5 to 2.5 inches are expected in a brief period, with another half inch possible by evening.
