ICE Apprehends MS-13 Gang Member in Indiana
ICE has arrested a member of the MS-13 gang residing in Indiana, who has been charged with first-degree murder and firearm possession.
Recent reports indicate that Jonny Handy Martinez-Barillas, an illegal immigrant and MS-13 member, was captured by ICE and the FBI. He previously faced serious charges in Maryland but was allowed to remain at large after being released by state police in 2023.
ICE tweeted details about the arrest, highlighting previous accusations of murder and firearms possession against Martinez-Barillas, emphasizing the risks posed by his previous release.
According to various sources, Martinez-Barillas, 30, was taken into custody in Clay County, Indiana. He had been living freely after his release, despite the serious nature of his past charges.
On another note, Donald Trump’s border policies continue to be a major talking point. Tom Homan, a key figure in immigration enforcement, shared that the total border encounters in June 2025 saw a significant decline, reporting 6,070 interactions, which he claims is less than a typical day during Biden’s tenure.
Homan discussed the impact of the “Trump Effect,” noting that this number represents a 15% decrease since March and a stark contrast to the peak days in the Biden administration, when encounters hit around 11,000 daily. He stressed that the current figures reflect the safest borders in U.S. history.
The Trump administration continues to emphasize its efforts in ensuring safety for Americans amid ongoing discussions about immigration policy.
