Oklahoma Super PAC Invests in McCall’s Governorship Campaign

As the 2026 midterm elections approach—18 months out—Super PAC supporting Oklahoma House Speaker Charles McCall has made a significant move with a $1.6 million ad buy. This ad campaign kicks off on July 9, featuring an eight-week plan across broadcast, cable, satellite, and statewide streaming platforms.

According to Erin Mahersey, a spokesperson for the Oklahoma Conservative Union, “Charles McCall is America’s only US first,” highlighting his early candidacy and established conservative record. “This is just the beginning. With the right experience, genuine momentum, and a winning message, McCall is equipped to go the distance and deliver real results for Oklahoma.”

With less than a year until the Republican primary, two notable candidates have emerged in the race for the governor’s office. Given Oklahoma’s solid Republican lean, the primary winner is likely to succeed in the general election scheduled for November.

McCall formally announced his gubernatorial campaign earlier in the year. He emphasizes “a stronger Oklahoma rooted in America’s first agenda,” pointing to his collaborative efforts with Governor Stitt and former President Trump.

Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond has also declared his candidacy for governor, promoting his conservative platform. He argues that his leadership as Attorney General has fought against what he calls the “radical overreach of the Biden administration,” and he’s pledged to maintain a strong alliance with Trump.

The McCall campaign has critiqued Drummond’s position on certain issues, particularly around new legislation regarding transgender health care for minors, suggesting a lack of firmness in Drummond’s approach. Drummond has stated that his decisions regarding enforcement delays should not be seen as a concession.

Earlier this summer, the U.S. Supreme Court upheld a ruling from the Oklahoma Supreme Court, which determined that public funding for the St. Isidor of Seville Catholic Virtual School in Oklahoma City was unconstitutional. This has added to the ongoing tensions between Governor Stitt and Drummond regarding Oklahoma’s political landscape and policies.

Stitt, serving as the vice-chairman of the National Association of Governors, faces term limits in 2026. This year, conservative political meetings have seen McCall promote his campaign alongside highlighting significant conservative policies from his role as House Speaker, including protecting farmland, school choice, tax cuts, and pro-life legislation.

Additionally, Oklahoma Representatives such as Cindy Manson and Leia Mitchell Haynes, along with former Senator Mike Matsuzay, are also in the running for governor, making this race increasingly competitive.
