David Bossie: One Year After Butler, There’s Much to Appreciate

Anniversary of Trump’s Assassination Attempt

July 13th is a significant date, marking the attempted assassination of President Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania. Thankfully, he was saved that day, which allowed him to continue his campaign for re-election.

With the “one big beautiful bill” now enacted, there appears to be a renewed hope among Americans for a better future for themselves and their families. Reversing the consequences of a previous presidency takes time, especially when four years of hasty decisions have caused so much damage. Since taking office in January, President Trump and his administration have undertaken efforts to steer America onto a more positive path.

Safety at the borders has improved. The nuclear threat posed by Iran has been dealt with effectively. Fiscal responsibility seems to be a focus across the federal government. Criminal illegal immigrants have faced deportation. The Pentagon is prioritizing national defense rather than other agendas. Fair trade agreements are now structured to better support American workers, and our nation has regained respect globally.

President Trump’s policy initiatives have highlighted the accomplishments of his first six months in office. His legislation reflects that he and the Republican Congress are attuned to the concerns of the American populace. This law is set to broaden the tax cuts implemented under his leadership over the coming years. It introduces extensive federal spending aimed at addressing the national debt crisis and prioritizes Medicaid for those most in need by enforcing work requirements. Full border security is now a priority, with funding for the largest deportation operation in U.S. history. Additionally, it removes overtime pay regulations and taxes on Social Security, while promoting American energy production to mitigate inflation and significantly enhancing national defense.

This is undoubtedly a major win for President Trump, the GOP, and American families who have been longing for relief from Washington’s decisions. The Biden-Harris administration is characterized by uncertainty and a lack of lawfulness. Trump’s new law aims to mitigate the chaos stemming from Biden’s policies and those of the extreme left.

It’s interesting to consider what Kamala Harris’s budget would have looked like had she been elected last November. I mean, if we look at Democrat leaders like Chuck Schumer and Hakem Jeffries and their opposition to Trump’s initiatives, one could speculate that her administration might have implemented tax cuts that aligned with socialist goals. The left’s rhetoric suggests a continued openness at the borders, and perhaps even comprehensive pardons for illegal immigrants—including criminals—would have been on the agenda. It’s tough to ignore the possibility that the Green New Deal could have been pushed even harder, leading to unrestrained inflation and a problematic agenda.

Elections definitely have consequences. Trump’s decisive victory likely saved the nation from a leftist agenda that could have been detrimental.

In recent days, we’ve seen more robust job creation, and the Supreme Court ruled against unconstitutional national injunctions by partisan judges. There’s been exposure regarding the Obama administration’s misuse of intelligence reports to falsely frame Trump in the past. A new fair trade agreement with Vietnam has also been established, alongside record stock market levels.

However, given the country’s financial challenges, President Trump and House Speaker Mike Johnson are aware that further tax reforms and budget cuts will be essential in the near future. After enduring a lengthy period of darkness, these developments bring encouragement to the United States. Let’s remember the events of July 13th and keep President Trump in our thoughts.
