Two Men Arrested for Methamphetamine Possession
Law enforcement arrested two men on Monday after seizing an estimated £900 worth of methamphetamine, valued at around $1.7 million.
Dan Bongino, the deputy director of the FBI, shared in a post on X that they are actively seeking out these individuals and disrupting their activities. He expressed gratitude towards the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration for their collaboration.

The suspects, identified as 46-year-old Joel Casas-Santiago and 44-year-old Guillermo Mercado Chaparro, face allegations related to the trafficking operation. It was reported that undercover officers purchased meth from Chaparro last week, leading investigators to secure court orders to track his vehicle.
On Monday, police observed Chaparro placing two bags into a jeep parked next to a pickup truck. Casas-Santiago was seen entering the jeep, with the two men later driving off in another vehicle.
Authorities Seize Significant Drug Quantities
After locating the jeep, law enforcement discovered 251 pounds of suspected methamphetamine inside. Additionally, a warrant to search the pickup truck revealed another 638 pounds of meth and a drug ledger.
Casas-Santiago has been charged with one count of first-degree sale of methamphetamine within a 90-day period, while Chaparro faces two counts of the same charge. Chaparro has reportedly confessed to participating in drug trafficking, with investigators believing both are linked to larger drug trafficking organizations based in Mexico.
FBI’s Focus on Drug Enforcement
As of late, there’s been a noticeable increase in the FBI’s drug seizures. Over recent months, the agency has reported seizing 22% more illicit substances compared to the same period last year, including over 97,000 pounds of cocaine, more than 7,000 pounds of meth, and over 2,500 pounds of fentanyl.
While the FBI and the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office have yet to respond to inquiries, the focus on combating violent crime and illegal immigration remains a priority.
