The details surrounding Julian McMahon’s passing have emerged just days after the announcement of his death. According to a summary report obtained from the Pinellas County Medical Examiner’s Office, the actor, known for his appealing looks, passed away at 56 due to lung metastasis linked to head and neck cancer.
The report categorizes his death as natural, and it’s confirmed that he was cremated.
His wife, Kelly McMahon, shared the news with Fox News Digital on July 5, explaining that he succumbed after fighting cancer for some time.
Actor Julian McMahon, known for roles in “Fantastic Four” and “Nip/Tuck,” has died at the age of 56.
In a heartfelt statement, Kelly expressed her sorrow, stating, “I want to open up and share with the world that my beloved husband, Julian McMahon, passed away peacefully this week after a brave effort to overcome cancer.” She detailed his love for life, his family, friends, and fans. “His deepest wish was to bring joy to as many lives as possible,” she added, requesting privacy for their family during this tough time.
McMahon, born on July 27, 1968, in Sydney, Australia, had a notable lineage; his father served as Australia’s prime minister from 1971 to 1972.
He started his career in modeling before transitioning to acting, gaining early experience in Australian dramas such as “The Power, The Passion” and “Home and Away.” He became well-known in the U.S. for his role in “Another World” and later starred as Cole Turner in “Charmed” from 2000 to 2005. Following that, he featured prominently in the Ryan Murphy series “Nip/Tuck,” portraying Dr. Christian Troy from 2003 to 2010.
On the film front, he played the antagonist Victor Von Doom in the 2005 superhero film “Fantastic Four” and its 2007 sequel. His film credits also include “Paranoia” (2013), “You Not You” (2014), and “Swinging Safari” (2018).
Prior to his marriage to Kelly, McMahon was briefly married to Australian singer Danny Minogue from 1994 to 1995 and was also in a relationship with Brooke Burns in 1999.
