Dana White indicates Jon Jones and Conor McGregor may come back for the White House event

Trump’s UFC Celebration at the White House

Last week, President Donald Trump announced plans to hold a UFC event at the White House, celebrating what he calls his “250th birthday” next year. He emphasized this during a speech at the Iowa Fairgrounds just before Independence Day.

“Our national parks, historic sites, and battlefields will host special events for ‘America 250,’ and I think we’re going to have a UFC fight,” Trump noted, making it clear that this would be a unique occasion. UFC president Dana White supported this idea, promising fans “the best card ever.”

White remarked, “Everyone wants to fight on this card. Literally everyone.” This buzz followed his announcement about stepping down, creating a stir in the sports community. When asked if the announcement was indeed official, he confirmed, “Yeah, that’s right.”

After Jon Jones’ retirement, his heavyweight title went to Tom Aspinall, which makes one wonder about what White sees as a “dream main event.” During a chat about this, White stated, “My dream match right now is Aspinall vs. Jones.” Jones himself responded to Trump’s announcement enthusiastically, saying he resumed training immediately.

Conor McGregor also showed interest in joining the lineup for the event. White indicated that McGregor could very well be on the same card as Jones, saying it’s remarkable how McGregor continues to hold star power, even now. Despite a history of injuries and setbacks, McGregor remains a formidable figure in the sport.

It’s fascinating how events like these can capture public attention and create such excitement. The combination of Trump’s announcement and the UFC’s high-stakes atmosphere sets the stage for an unforgettable series of matches at the White House next year.
