Jennifer Lopez Debuts New Song in Style
Jennifer Lopez was spotted in a striking crop top after unveiling her new song, “Wreckage of You,” which many believe reflects on her past relationship with Ben Affleck.
In photos from Saturday, the pop superstar was seen in Malaga, Spain, wearing a crisp white long-sleeved crop top that showcased her impressive abs. She added a layered gold necklace that featured a body chain and a nameplate pendant, with her sleeves designed to include flaps and cutouts.
Completing her outfit, Lopez paired the crop top with wide-legged beige pants and donned a navy blue ball cap. She carried a sleek black crocodile leather bag and sported astronaut-style sunglasses for her sunny outing.
The “Waiting for Tonight” singer kicked off her tour in Pontevedra, Spain, before moving on to performance in Malaga and Cadiz.
Lopez’s new song appears to touch on her brief marriage to Affleck, with “Wreckage of You” first played at a listening event in Los Angeles on July 2nd.
According to a guest at the event, Edgardruiz Rivera, Lopez co-wrote and recorded the song just two weeks prior. He noted that she came up with the idea for the song one night while lying in bed after a long day of rehearsals. Reflecting on a challenging year that included canceling a previous tour, Lopez expressed feeling stronger than ever now.
Rivera explained that she kept thinking about the term “shipwreck,” symbolizing destruction, yet the lyrics convey resilience, stating, “After your wreckage, I am strong.”
Affleck, who finalized his divorce from Lopez in January after two years of marriage, was recently seen at a Red Sox game with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner and their children, Seraphina and Samuel.
Their co-parenting relationship seems cordial, though sources have indicated that Lopez is not pleased to see constant images of Affleck with Garner, particularly during family outings.
Garner is currently dating John Miller, who was spotted recently near his home in Los Angeles.
