Trump Shares Compelling Video on Anniversary of Butler Assassination Attempt

Trump Reflects on Near-Assassination Anniversary

On the first anniversary of his near-assassination in Butler, Pennsylvania, former President Donald Trump shared a compelling video showcasing highlights from his life and career, both in business and politics. The clip runs for about a minute and a half and is part of a project called “Mythical Tales,” which is set to be released by July 13, 2024.

In the video, Trump is seen amidst various scenes from his life. At one point, he raises his fist in the air, pumping it as if in defiance, while, metaphorically speaking, “blood” pours from his ears—an image certainly loaded with emotion.

“Will future generations look back and say we made the most of our time?” Trump quoted from a speech at Liberty University in 2017. He emphasized the importance of vision, perseverance, and grit in any meaningful life.

He also referenced another speech delivered at the 2024 Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, recalling the tragedy surrounding his near-assassination, where losses were felt deeply as a result of violence shortly afterward.

“We are Americans. Ambition is our heritage. Greatness is our birthright,” he declared, reinforcing a sense of American identity and pride.

In the wake of the attack, many expressed their belief that divine intervention played a role in Trump’s survival. At the Republican National Convention, several attendees shared sentiments that God had protected him that day. One attendee described Trump as “the instrument of God,” while Pastor Lorenzo Sewell remarked on the sense of protection felt during that moment.

Rona Hines, a Tennessee representative, reflected on the incident by saying, “Evil has plans, but God’s plan supersedes it.” She conveyed the idea that Trump’s survival was evidence of a higher purpose at work.

Trump himself acknowledged feeling that divine protection was at play. He recounted a moment of confusion during the ordeal, expressing disbelief about what had transpired and attributing his survival to a higher power.

Since the attack, Trump noted a significant shift in his faith. “Honestly, something has changed within me,” he admitted. “I feel stronger in my belief in God now than ever before. It’s almost as if something happened during that experience.” It seems this life-altering event has strengthened his convictions in ways he hadn’t anticipated.
