Investigation Concludes on Jeff Sperbeck’s Death
John Elway, a Pro Football Hall of Famer, has been cleared of any wrongdoing in connection with the death of agent Jeff Sperbeck, who tragically passed away in April following a golf cart accident. Officials announced the conclusion of the investigation on Friday.
Sheriff Chad Bianco from Riverside County, California, stated that the incident was deemed a “tragic accident” and emphasized that there was nothing criminal involved. He mentioned to a Denver news outlet, “We spoke with all the people involved and there was nothing new.”
Sperbeck, aged 62, lost his life on a golf course when he fell from the golf cart that Elway was driving. An autopsy conducted by the Riverside County Coroner’s Office ruled the death an accident resulting from a blunt head injury.
“I’ve reviewed the video countless times, and honestly, there’s no clear reason for why he fell. He simply fell,” Bianco remarked.
After the incident, Elway expressed his deep sorrow. He stated, “I am absolutely devastated and heartbroken by the death of my best friend, business partner, and agent Jeff Sperbeck.” Elway shared his condolences for Sperbeck’s family, recalling the immense impact Sperbeck had on his life and others.
Sperbeck had been representing Elway since 1990, and their relationship extended beyond sports into various business endeavors.
