Hosting a Policy Event with Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent

Breitbart News is set to host a policy event featuring the Treasury Secretary, coming shortly after Congressional Republicans worked to turn President Donald Trump’s initial American agenda into reality with the approval of a substantial bill.

The discussion will involve Secretary Scott Bescent and Breitbart’s Washington Director, Matthew Boyle, and is scheduled for Wednesday, July 30th, in Washington, D.C., starting at 9:30 AM Eastern. This event is a collaboration with CGCN and the Alfa Institute.

The gathering highlights the positive trajectory of Trump’s economic initiatives. Unexpected tariff revenues led to a governmental surplus in June, and emerging economic indicators consistently reveal a strengthening economy during the president’s second term. Policies enacted under Trump have also contributed to increases in blue-collar wages. There’s a sense of optimism that the recently signed President’s Signature Act will further solidify this economic progress.

Alongside Boyle’s conversation with Bescent, John Carney, Breitbart’s economics editor, will have an interview with Joe Lavolguna, a key advisor in the Treasury Department. More details on the event’s programming will be shared closer to the date.

“Treasury Secretary Scott Becent has shown how pivotal he is in executing President Trump’s economic strategy this year, from trade negotiations to crafting the significant bill currently in effect,” Boyle remarked before the event.

“No one holds a more crucial perspective on how the president influences market dynamics while reshaping the global economic landscape,” he added.

“This is why we are continuing our event series with Secretary Bescent, aimed at engaging our audience, key decision-makers, and industry leaders, to better understand what decisions lie ahead.”

Sam Geduldig, Managing Partner at CGCN, commented:

“In my three decades in Washington, I’ve never encountered a Treasury Secretary with such command. There’s no pretense—just clarity,” he remarked. “CGCN is excited to be involved in this event.”

“A revival of American industry demands bold policies and intelligent investments,” stated Matt Sparks, co-founder of the Alfa Institute. “Secretary Becent is truly the leader we need to initiate a new chapter of national resilience.”

Bescent has played a critical role in U.S. trade negotiations, actively supporting the “big and beautiful bill,” and calling for “full GOP support” in the lead-up to the bill’s passage.

This event marks the fourth policy discussion hosted by Breitbart News, following successful talks with Home Secretary Doug Burgham in March, Agriculture Secretary Brook Rollins in May, and Energy Secretary Chris Wright in June.

The session with Bescent holds particular significance, as he has previously indicated that he relies on Breitbart News for information. In a June interview, he called it his “primary morning news source,” mentioning a close working relationship with Kearney, describing him as “one of America’s top three business reporters.”
