The MLB All-Star Festival kicks off with the highly anticipated Home Run Derby.
This year, eight All-Stars will vie to hit the most home runs. It’s the second consecutive year the Derby has adopted this format, allowing each participant 40 pitches over three minutes. The top four home run hitters then advance to the semi-finals, leading to a final showdown for the trophy.
Interestingly, Seattle Mariners’ Cal Raleigh won’t be seen again after last year’s Derby. Meanwhile, Yankees’ Jazz Chisholm Jr. is set to compete. He recently mentioned his intention to simply enjoy the event, sharing that his stepfather, Jeron Sands, will pitch for him.
