Trump expresses confusion over supporters' interest in Epstein

Recently, President Trump expressed confusion about why many of his supporters remain so interested in the case of Jeffrey Epstein, a disgraced investor. “I don’t get it. He’s been gone for quite some time. He wasn’t really a significant part of life,” Trump remarked. He added that he found the ongoing fascination puzzling and somewhat tedious, stating, “I think it’s boring. Honestly, I’m not sure why it persists. Only people with bad intentions keep it in the spotlight.”

A memo from the Justice Department and FBI last week confirmed that Epstein did not have a client list and reiterated that he committed suicide in a New York prison in 2019. This conclusion has only fueled conspiracy theories regarding his death, especially among some in the MAGA movement who allege that high-profile Democrats are implicated in his dealings.

Epstein faced multiple accusations of sex trafficking involving young girls, and he associated with powerful individuals, including Trump, former President Clinton, British Prince Andrew, and other celebrities. Additionally, Ghislaine Maxwell, an associate of Epstein, was found guilty of sex trafficking.

Amid growing criticism, Attorney General Pam Bondi has faced backlash for her office’s lack of transparency concerning Epstein. Some Trump supporters are calling for her removal over this issue. Critics recalled her promise to be open about the Epstein documents earlier this year, including comments about a supposed client list waiting for review. She has since claimed that she has disclosed various related documents.

In defense of Bondi, Trump suggested that any reliable information about Epstein should be made public. “She’s handled it well, and it’s really up to her to decide what she can trust and share,” he stated.
