A Progressive District Attorney Is Unable to Manage the Charlotte Case

On Tuesday’s episode of “Hannity” on Fox News Channel, Attorney General Pam Bondi discussed the federal jurisdiction taken over the stabbing incident related to Charlotte’s light rail.

She expressed concern that the local prosecutor, Spencer Merriweather, who is seen as progressive, might shift blame onto the suspect, DeCarlos Brown Jr., for being out on the streets.

“You’ve instructed your attorney to indict DeCarlos Brown on federal charges,” host Sean Hannity remarked. “He likely won’t be a free man again. What penalties are you looking to pursue?”

Bondi replied, “Sean, we are committed to prosecuting him to the fullest extent. We’ve taken on this case because it involves murder in a public transport setting. Local progressive DAs can’t manage this. In fact, North Carolina’s progressive DA in Charlotte is Spencer Merriweather, and we believe this issue needs urgent attention.”

“He was previously arrested as well,” she added. “He had a history involving a firearm during a robbery attempt. There were three instances against him, though one, involving a woman, wasn’t charged. I’ve seen cases like this throughout my career.”
