Asked if he had a message for senators considering voting against Kennedy, Shanahan didn't mince words.
“When you vote against Bobby Kennedy as a senator in his Senate confirmation hearings, you're against mothers, you're against children, you're against science,” Shanahan said.
“And Bobby Kennedy is a man who deeply, deeply cares about the American people on a cellular level, and he wants to see our children grow up. That's the job of anyone who holds public office. ” she added. “I'm sure you all come from a place of wanting to see your constituents thrive, not suffer. That's the goal here.”
Shanahan also said he would be “honored to work” at the Department of Health and Human Services if asked.
