Rumors Intensify Around Aaron Donald’s Possible Return to the Rams

Not too long ago, whispers began circulating that Aaron Donald might make an unexpected return to the NFL with the team he’s always played for. Recently, however, those rumors had started to fade—until something happened on Friday that reignited the speculation.

Reports surfaced that the three-time Defensive Player of the Year was seen on video working out at the Rams’ practice facility in Woodland Hills. According to a TMZ report, Donald participated in an hour-long session that included ladder drills, medicine ball throws, and agility exercises, pushing himself until he was clearly exhausted.

It’s not surprising to see Donald training; he’s always maintained impressive physical condition. But interestingly, most of his social media content tends to showcase gym routines rather than on-field practice.

Although he stepped away from football two years ago, his commitment to training has never waned. Observing his recent workouts, it becomes evident why teammates and NFL leaders are not dismissing the idea of his return lightly.

Alongside this buzz, when Los Angeles acquired Myles Garrett, widely viewed as a top defensive player, it sparked conversations about Donald potentially making a comeback. During Garrett’s induction press conference, Rams head coach Sean McVay responded positively when asked about Donald’s return, stating that if the star is interested, there’s a chance.

“Aaron is someone I stay in close contact with,” McVay mentioned. “He holds a lot of respect for Myles. If he decides he wants to come back at age 35, I’m confident he can still compete at a high level.”

Furthermore, Andrew Whitworth expressed his thoughts in an exclusive interview, suggesting that whether Donald re-signs with the Rams depends on how ready he feels to face the risks associated with playing, including injuries. He acknowledged having talked with Donald about a potential return and indicated that Donald is “definitely” interested in putting on the Rams uniform again.

Whitworth, who hosts a camp alongside Donald, believes that the key determinant will be how Donald feels physically after a few days of training. “He’s always in training mode,” Whitworth said, emphasizing that only Donald can truly gauge his readiness for another season.

This latest video has only fueled the rumors further, with some analysts speculating that he might indeed return this season in pursuit of another Super Bowl ring with a talented Rams roster that now includes Garrett.
