Aaron Judge looks comfortable in first Yankees lineup test with Juan Soto

Items to watch for Sunday’s Yankees’ Grapefruit League game:

Easy with 3

The 3-hole seems like a perfect fit for Aaron Judge.

In his first game batting behind new No. 2 hitter Juan Soto, Judge went 2-for-2 with an RBI in a split-squad win against the Blue Jays.

In the Yankees’ split-team loss to the Phillies, Oswaldo Peraza hit what would have been an inning-ending hit to shortstop, allowing a run from third base.

He quickly got a chance to recover when the next batter hit another pop-up and secured it with both hands, but Peraza, who typically has sure hands, grounded out again late in the game. I made a defensive mistake.

It caught my eye

George Lombard Jr., the Yankees’ first-round pick last summer, came from minor league camp and hit a home run to the opposite field against the Blue Jays.

The 18-year-old shortstop has only played in 13 games as a pro, but Sunday’s home run will be a fond memory for him as he looks to move up the rankings.

Monday schedule

Nestor Cortez makes his Grapefruit League debut as the Yankees host the Twins at Steinbrenner Field at 1:05 p.m.
