Aaron Rodgers appears to have a hand injury ahead of the Steelers vs. Colts game.

During warm-ups ahead of their Week 9 game against the Indianapolis Colts, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers seemed to injure his hand. This occurred at Acrizier Stadium on a Sunday afternoon.

Although he started the game at 1 p.m. ET, it’s uncertain if this injury had any impact on his performance, as he completed 20 of 28 passes for 178 yards and one touchdown by early in the fourth quarter.

About half an hour before the game began, footage aired on CBS’ NFL pregame show showing Rodgers appearing to hurt his throwing hand while practicing snaps.

Out of frustration, Rodgers spiked the ball and displayed his pinky finger to his teammates after the incident. “We have some intriguing news,” Matt Ryan noted while speaking with co-host Tony Romo. “Tony, I’m curious if you’ve ever faced something like this. Aaron Rodgers may have hurt his hand during warm-ups,” he remarked.

Ryan added, “I don’t want to jump to conclusions, but everyone knows the challenge of a finger getting caught during a snap.”

Following the incident, Rodgers was seen throwing the ball, with Romo suggesting that he likely jammed his finger while taking a snap from the backup center. “It probably occurred then, and he looks alright,” Romo commented.

Even if Rodgers ended up on the field, he wasn’t the first quarterback this season to sustain a pinky injury on a snap.

Earlier in the season, rookie quarterback Will Howard missed out on the entire preseason due to a break in his fifth finger from an accident during training camp, leading to him being placed on injured reserve.

Given the Steelers’ already thin quarterback situation, they are depending heavily on Rodgers to steer the team, particularly since he has had a respectable season so far. Before this game, the 21-year veteran had completed 68 percent of his passes for 1,489 yards and 16 touchdowns, ranking third in the NFL.

At the time, the Steelers were ahead 24-7 early in the fourth quarter.
