Aaron Rodgers fined $11,255 ahead of finale of Jets’ abysmal season

The NFL has added another stain on Aaron Rodgers' 2024 season.

The New York Jets entered the season as a team expected to make the playoffs.

That was the idea for the 2023 team, but Rodgers tore his Achilles tendon on the fourth play of that season.

Despite poor quarterback play, the 2023 team was mathematically alive for the playoffs in late December, finishing with a 7-10 record.

But this season somehow got worse. The Jets enter the final game of the season with 4 wins and 12 losses.

And as the Jets prepare for the final game of the season, four-time MVP Rodgers was fined $11,255 for a hit in the final seconds of the game against the Buffalo Bills in Week 17.

The hit came after Rodgers threw a pick. It wasn't a threatening tackle by any means, but Rodgers was given a warning.

It's been a roller coaster for Rodgers. Rodgers looked like a 41-year-old quarterback coming back from a serious injury, but he was showing signs of turning back the clock.

But it seems fitting that Rodgers was fined as perhaps the most disappointing season in franchise history comes to an end.

The Jets trailed 42-0 at one point last week, but were able to reach the end zone twice after Tyrod Taylor replaced Rodgers in the fourth quarter.
