Aaron Rodgers has 'a small fracture' in worrying injury update

Aaron Rodgers exited the Steelers’ 34-12 victory over the Bengals late in the second quarter due to what was reported as a “vision problem” related to his non-throwing left wrist.

Rodgers, who had two seasons with the Jets before joining Pittsburgh, is set to undergo further testing on Monday to assess the nature of his injury and the expected recovery time, according to a report.

Mason Rudolph took over for the Steelers in the second half. At that moment, the team indicated that Rodgers might not return due to the hand injury.

Before he left the field, Rodgers had one last throw that resulted in an incomplete pass.

He completed 9 out of 15 passes for 116 yards and threw one touchdown before his injury forced him out of the game.

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin mentioned in his post-game remarks that he spoke to Rodgers after the win.

“He was thrilled about the victory,” Tomlin shared. “We mainly talked about that; the injury wasn’t the focus. We emphasized the significance of winning.”

When pressed about the possibility of Rodgers returning to play in the second half, Tomlin was noncommittal.

“Honestly, there’s no definite answer to that,” he admitted. “I’ll provide more details in our next conversation.”

The injury seemed to occur near the end of the first half when Rodgers was tackled after attempting to steal the ball, falling on his left wrist and hand.

Entering Week 11, Rodgers had thrown 183 passes for 1,853 yards, with 18 touchdowns and seven interceptions, contributing to the Steelers’ 5-4 record.

In relief, Rudolph completed 12 of 16 throws for 127 yards and one touchdown against the Bengals.
