Golf was a topic no one mentioned during last month’s presidential debate between Donald Trump and Joe Biden, but it became one of the most talked-about moments between the former and current presidents.
The situation continued when Trump challenged Biden to a $1 million charity match at a golf course in Doral, Florida, during a rally.
“I will also officially challenge ‘Crooked Joe’ to an 18-hole golf match here at the Blue Monster at Doral, considered one of the finest tournament golf courses in the world,” Trump told the rally audience, via the New York Post. “This will be one of the most-watched sporting events in history.”

The golf controversy has been a hot topic across the country, and New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers is among those who can’t believe it’s even being discussed.
“They started talking about golf and Trump just said he’d give Joe $1 million for 10 strokes,” Rogers said during a television appearance. “Pardon My Take” podcast.

Rogers, himself a skilled golfer, said he thought Biden’s “get ’em” was an “under-the-radar” moment and that he found it funny.
“‘You’ve got to carry your own baggage,'” Rogers recalled Biden telling Trump. “He was a guy who couldn’t even get off the stage. He couldn’t even get off the stage and he said, ‘Yeah, Mr. Trump, you’ve got to carry your own baggage.'”
The topic of golf came up during the June 27 debate, with Trump talking about his “good health” and how he’s “won two tournaments, not just senior tournaments, but regular club tournaments.”

“You have to be pretty smart and be able to hit the ball far to do that, and that’s what I’m doing.” [Biden] He doesn’t do that. He can’t hit the ball 50 yards. He challenged me to a game of golf. He can’t hit the ball 50 yards.”
“I’d love to have a driving contest with him,” Biden said, sparking a social media uproar by talking about his six handicap when he was vice president to former President Barack Obama.
“The biggest lie is that he’s a six handicap,” Trump shot back. “I’ve seen your swing, I know your swing.”
Rogers said that while Biden won’t be challenging Trump for reelection this year, he believes another sport could decide the contest between the two.
